These are a selection of paintings that have all been made in response to St. Mary le Wigford in 2017.

 

Multi-media pieces combine paint and photography, painted on either paper or canvas, using acrylic paint, graphite, oil pastel and ink. A combination or brush sizes, palette knives and sponges have also been used to create texture and movement.

 

My art is about exploring and responding to the spaces in my photography in this case I have responded to the church in Lincoln, St. Mary le Wigford, taking photographs of the outside and inside of the church and responding to the architecture. Joining the photographs together through paint I intended to create depth in the painting, having light flow from one image to another and joining them by carrying on the archways and columns.
